After graduating cum laude from Temple University’s School of Media and Communication, Taisje Claiborne began her career as a board operator at the only African-American owned and operated talk-radio station in Pennsylvania, 900 AM WURD. Working at this historic station Taisje not only executed the programming format as expected but reported on Caribbean sports during the Caribbean Connection Show with radio favorite, Lloyd Cummings.
While working for WURD, she was offered an opportunity to serve as the Associate Producer of The Rich Zeoli Show CBS Radio’s Talk Radio 1210. After three years at CBS Radio, Taisje continued her career in Washington, D.C. as the producer of The Larry O’Connor Show on 105.9 WMAL. It was during her time at WMAL while working alongside esteemed radio host, podcaster and columnist Larry O’Connor that Taisje identified key topics for the listening demographic, booked guests and screened incoming phone calls maintaining the overall flow of the program. She also facilitated live broadcasts at The White House, the U.S. Capitol & various other remote locations.
Currently, Taisje is the Assignment Desk Booker for Sinclair Broadcast Group’s national morning show, The National Desk. At Sinclair, Taisje books high profile guests and produces segments on TND – a program airing live in over 60 markets across the United States. Through her experiences, Taisje plans to bring a voice to the voiceless, relatability to the masses and share the stories of individuals who have shaped the world we live in. With each opportunity granted, Taisje intends to do the same.
